Work Experiences   :  Life in the fast lane
      By: David K. Every

veryone has read other people's resume's. At least, if you haven't, you should. If for no other reason than if give you a good background on how to summarize your experiences, or sell yourself, in a professional way. As someone who has hired many dozens of people over the decades, I'd like to think I've gotten good at not only reading resume's, but reading into them and understanding what might be behind them. This area goes into something I haven't seen in writing before; just my experiences at various workplaces, and what I learned from them.

We've all had those "jobs from hell" that we whine about. Or experiences that are what we got, when we didn't get what we wanted. I decided to write down my experiences in sort of a dilbertesque look at the working world, and share. Not to malign the companies I worked at. In fact, from working with many others, and consulting for decades, the irony is that the places I worked were no where near the bottom the list. It is more to remind people of things that can go on, hopefully to motivate them that things aren't that bad where they are. And maybe to share some things that I learned, so that others can learn the lessons in a less hard way than I did.
