Rockwell-NAAO : 1983 By: David K. Every

fter I tried the QA route, I went back to Aerospace Consulting. North American Aviation Organization (NAAO) was hiring. NAAO was now a division of Rockwell (which later became a division of Boeing), but they were most known for the B-25 and P-51 Mustang of WWII. They were making a maintenance trainer for the B1-B bomber. When you build airplanes, you need to train people on how to maintain and debug problems on something far less expensive that real airplanes. Basically, simulate problems and take them through the steps of fixing them. Our job was to made this simulator.
The "6 month" contract lasted three years. While my friends were going to college and partying, I was doing real work (and um, some partying on the weekends). I was young and naive but I got more experienced, a security clearance, management training, presentation skills, networking, and learned a lot about how the way the world, or at least aerospace, works. These are the stories of what happened or what I learned while there.
