You can't make this stuff up. The NYT and other progressive institutions loved and respected National Socialism, it aligned well with the New Deal, and leftist central planning, tax and spend ideology. The Nazi's were also saying great things about FDR, and copying the DNC on laws for segregation and the like, since they aligned on so many things.
