Another Hawai'i get-away, this time to the Big Island in March. We were in Kona (the Dry side), but did a drive around the Island (and saw the Lava and the Wet Side). With some hanging out at the pool or water with a Mai Thai.
Big Island
The dry side of the big Island is either Lava Landscape or a resort, with some lush areas. The wet side, much more lush.
When you to an airport without walls and open, you know you're in Hawaii.
One of the breathing holes.
Green Golf Courses or manicured resorts.
Or rich guys with their arm candy wives.
To do's
There's snorkeling at public beaches (or tours).
That was more fun than I would have thought, definitely should be on a todo list.
There's hanging out at the pool...
With Mai Thai's (or other fruity drinks): these things will put you out.
And some local food that's awesome: flatbread with macadamia nut, pesto, sun dried tomatoes, Parmesan. Nom nom.
Volcano
There's a Volcano to visit, when it isn't erupting too bad.
Who knew one of the most destructive forces should be a tourist attraction?
Along with the caves of devastation made by the volcano.
