The AFP and Reuters breathlessly reported, according to the UN the U.S. had "the worldโ€™s highest rate of children in detention.โ€ Then they found out the numbers were by a different metric (accounting) and the U.S. was far lower -- but the article/study came during 2015 Obama era, and the Press had been trying to bury that story, and the numbers had gone down under Trump. Instead of correcting/reporting that, they pulled the story and whitewashed history to keep from Obama looking bad and Trump from looking better. (NBC did a poor job of correcting the record, but at least tried).
