Charles Darwin

Darwin (along with Alfred Russel Wallace) popularized the theory of natural selection, about 50 years after James Hutton said the same thing. Though Darwin brought added value by explaining how the theory of evolution worked (natural selection). Though there seems to be a lot more going on that pure random chance and what Darwin hypothesized.
