CNN claimed that FakeNews on Twitter is what allowed Trump to win the 2016 elections: the study was debunked.
Details
- The Oxford Internet Institute study cited was about JunkNews (not FakeNews)
- It was poorly researched
- It included many mainstream conservative site like The Washington Examiner and Breitbart, which both contribute original reporting and have seats in the White House press pool.
- They were only commenting on the volume of messages, not the impact of them (as CNN did).
Lots of fail.
