2020.01.03 Qassim Soleimani killed by Trump
IranPayback.jpeg
After a dozen attacks by Iran, Trump killed a really, really bad guy. OrangeMan is bad (to the far left and their media). Thus this was a bad thing that was going to cause WWIII, and it was all our fault. Those that railed against this action demonstrate that they are anti-American trash that would rather see America burn, than admit Trump did something right.
City of Lies
CityOfLies.jpg
“City of Lies” by Ramita Navai. Ramita is a bit of a Social Justice Warrior, traveling the world and telling you what's wrong with it. Tehran, Iran was seen through that lens. Still, it is very interesting vignettes that point out a lot of the hypocrisy and contradictions, as any culture would look to "outsiders". So biased, but definitely worth the read.
Countdown to Zero Day

My knowledge runs pretty deep into cyber-security, and I loved the book, even I wanted it a bit more technical in some areas and a bit tighter overall. Definitely a good book for overview on how these hacks and attacks become more common. And for the future history of the first publicly visible shots fired in cyber-warfare.
Foreign Policy
An article on Iranian conflict: The Iranian people are not our enemy. Mixed good and bad analysis. (1) The Iranian people are not our enemy = good (2) The idea we should try to influence their economy = bad (mind your own business) (3) We have excessive demands = dumb... and so on.
Iran Nuclear Deal
IranDeal.jpg
Like most things Obama did, he fucked up negotiations with Iran. He signed a shitty deal, in the worst way possible, and Trump fixed it by wiping the slate clean and starting over, and Obama had his usual impotent tantrum over that. Obama didn't even require the Iranians to sign the deal, and he didn't ratify it through the senate (it was no treaty).
Islamic Phrases

I'm not a cunning linguist, nor a middle eastern expert -- but my Dad is Iranian and Muslim, as is 1/2 my family, and being "not from here" means I've been more observant of different cultures than most.
Mohammad Mosaddegh
Portrait of Mohammad Mosaddegh - circa 1952.jpg
Clueless lefties repeat, "The U.S. is at fault for everything in that region, because: Mosaddegh". Democratically elected (it was a sham), Communist sympathizer nationalized other people's property (Oil Fields) and acted like a dictator, since Reza Pahlavi (Shah) was the legal leader (30+ years prior), asking for support overthrowing Mosaddegh wasn't a coup.
