Reparations

The idea of Reparations is moronic and racist. We have too much mixing to be able to separate those blacks who traded or had slaves, from whites who found against it, and immigrants who had nothing to do with either. It is not judging a man on the content of his character, but punishing/rewarding based on the color of his skin -- and that's vile. It's also what the NAACP has devolved into, which is not about helping people who suffered (which can never be resolved since all are dead), but to exert power and remake America into a more unjust and authoritarian country.

Agenda

Remember the basics:

  • While this polls poorly, yet it's still a top issue for the far left politicians. Why are they so ahead of their constituencies on this topic? [1]
  • Talk to any of the advocates and you quickly learn that supporters believe America is irredeemable (fundamentally flawed) -- so it's not like reparations will cure anything. They want to remake America into something it never was (in their minds). It's the start of something, not the end of it.
  • The goal is to, "erase America’s wealth gap" ("only that would end white supremacy") -- which means low education blacks need to earn the same as White or Asian Doctors, otherwise we're racist. The elimination of a meritocracy and replacing it with Marxism (Socialism/Communism).
  • The technique is divisiveness: to vilify anyone who doesn't agree with reparations (Marxism) and wants to help blacks up, instead of holding whites/asians down, is the enemy. They don't just have a wrong opinion, they are evil/flawed and must be re-educated/fired/destroyed for a logical and fact-based world view. (This is not a moderate position to think that the only path to success is drinking from the skulls of your enemies).

So the results are not about outcomes, or public spending, it is about sorting Americans between the good (reparations supporters, Marxists and Black, or at least willing to go along) from the wicked (those who want America to remain an imperfect meritocracy and support individualism and diversity of outcomes), and making sure everyone knows the difference.

Why is reparations moronic?

There are many reasons
  1. You don't think being the only country to fight a civil war (and the bloodiest war in our history) to free other people (people other than those fighting the war) was enough?
  2. The reason to ignore it isn't because there wasn't injustice, but because anyone with a clue knows that you can't rectify the past.
  3. It is not judging a man on the content of his character, but punishing/rewarding based on the color of his skin -- and that's vile.
  4. Why do you think the government should be in charge of stealing from one person to give to another?
  5. Practically, we have too much mixing (and it's been too long) to be able to separate those blacks who traded or had slaves, from whites who fought against it, and immigrants who had nothing to do with either (of either color).

I use the following examples: I'm slightly <2% North African, a little less native American (what about reparations for them too?) -- but most of my White/Arab/Italian/German family came to the U.S. long after the civil war and had nothing to do with slavery. However, some of them fought for civil rights. (While many blacks did not). What family was here (for me), fought for the North. I had a family member murdered by a black gang banger, and my step dad's family is black but can trace their roots back to a slave trader on one side, and a slave owner on another. Or Kamala Harris has Indian on one side (practically white), and Slave Owner on the other. How much are we both owed? Show your work.

Anyone that thinks that a solvable problem will set the bozo bit for me.

🗒️ NOTE:
That MLK also flirted with reparations shows that he was a bit of a hypocrite, and that his history is a bit white-washed, but does nothing to support the moral argument for it.
