This is still one of our greatest family vacations. In June, our immediate Family and my Cousins did a group anniversary get-away to Cozamel, Mexico (with a little jaunt by ferry to Cancun).
It was an all inclusive place, except for excursions. -- like shooting over to Cancun, or trekking through ruins.
They had flamingo's: bids not dancers.
It had some ruins, but mostly you have to go to Cancun (and South) to see the better ones of those.
Melissa and others hopped over to Cancun by Ferry, but it made people seasick and took some time.
Our little room wasn't bad, it was nice enough, but smelled a little mildew.
The place was hot/humid, had mostly Mexican TV (it is their country), and we didn't spend much time inside.
Most of our time was spent at the pool... with its in-water bar.
Or just lounging in the appropriately named lounge chairs. Mass cervesa por favor.
We'd change positions for variety.
Having the Cousins meant lots of people to interact with, or chat by the pool while nursing free drinks.
We'd eat and shoot the breeze.
Anniversary for the cousins.
Anniversary for the parents.
Early Anniversary for us.
Dad ate the shellfish at one of the anniversaries, and got "el parasito", which meant he hated life the last day or so.
We went and swam with the dolphins. Sure it's exploitive, but they get free fish.
You shake hands, take pictures (for an up-charge), kiss them (they taste like Mahi-Mahi).
They pull and push you through the water
They're trained big/dangerous smart things.
