In Nov 2015 Kean graduate and race activist Kayla-Simone McKelvey tweeted death threats to many black students and staff, in order create enthusiasm for a campus rally on racial issues that she was organizing. She got 90 days + 5 years probation and $82,000 in restitution (security costs), instead.
