2019 Greta Man of the Year

It doesn't matter if you believe in the cause or not. Greta's fundamental beliefs that the world is ending in a dozen years or so if we don't act (and that humanity is at risk), is not science and disagrees with science. So picking her is not just symbolism over substance, it's picking comforting disinformation over the truth. Thus this symbolizes what Time has descended into. Major events, significant people, rise and fall of world leaders... and they pick a clueless little nitwit teen, programmed with the dogma and disinformation of activist parents, who has achieved nothing but making her side look bad to the informed and scaremongers propaganda to gullible rubes. Time decided that's the person that should represent their editorial integrity.

The Federalist eviscerated the premise by pointing out that Hong Kong Protestors were fighting and dying for liberty, and Time picked a teenage school ditcher that tells us we're all horrible people? Those that value impact to people's quality of lives over symbolic Slacktivism would agree with the Federalist. [1]

The Transom

TIME magazine has named its Person of the Year, a teenager who skipped school to travel around the world telling people that they are horrible and the planet is doomed. It’s a living.

Perhaps her Malthusian visions will be fulfilled by future experience. But it’s not very likely. In fact, her position is at odds with what we know: that a more responsible approach to climate requires action from China and India, not the West. But that makes for less convenient judgmental events, what with having to ride a catamaran across the Pacific instead of the Atlantic. She sticks to challenges with less risk, like speaking to groups of people who entirely agree with her.

Henry Luce’s 1920s prospectus for TIME magazine included this “list of prejudices”: • A belief that the world is round and an admiration of the statesman’s view of all the world. • A general distrust of the present tendency toward increasing interference by government. • A prejudice against the rising cost of government. • Faith in the things which money cannot buy. • A respect for the old, particularly in manners. • An interest in the new, particularly in ideas.

In keeping with that mission, the Person of the Year we ought to hail is the protester in Hong Kong.

In defiance of the most powerful authoritarian regime in the modern world, the protester in Hong Kong has stood against the authority of Red China with courage and dedication. They have not bowed to the brutality of the police, who have murdered, raped, and abused them. They have not run from the tear gas or the hoses. They have refused to back down. And because of that, their message has been heard.

It is a protest that cuts across the lines of age and class. While the protesters are younger, they are supported by their parents’ generation, which feels guilt over not asserting themselves earlier. So their mantra is: Be water.

Hong Kong has enjoyed freedoms never present in mainland China. They see those freedoms slipping away. And rather than bow to that inexorable betrayal, the thuggish assertion of the murderous state, they stood, and they fight.

There is no bigger fight. And so, the Hong Kong protester is the Person of the Year.

Time

Time Magazine was once a respected publication, but like all things: liberals ruined it. Once they took over, they destroyed "journalism" and replaced it with propaganda. So while good articles occasionally get through their editorial bias, it's strictly by accident, and usually not touching anything vaguely political. more...

Greta Thunberg
GreatEcoFascist.jpg
A clueless girl (Scoldilocks) tantrums over things she doesn't understand and the FakeNews/left activists and their media treat it like it's a significant event. It's child abuse. Greta Thunberg is this clueless, nasty little teen (Lisa Simpson Crossed with Bane ) that has been ruthlessly exploited and programmed by the far left (and her Parents), to the point of raging over things that aren't science and she has no fucking clue about. She's the voice/image of the radical "Global Climate Strike" crowd, so the media/far-left is using her like the Cartel (Human Traffickers) use any other teenage girl. Twitter is blocking people (Avi Yemini) for challenging her dogma with the facts. Her school and parents failed her into become like any cult victim / zealot. But her nasty little eco-fascism theology proves that there's still plenty of evil in the world, as demonstrated by those that set this mini-fanatic on us, and expect us to take her seriously.

1938 Hitler: Time Man of the Year

At least Greta is in good company. While "Man of the Year" isn't always a good thing (and is about "impact"), the truth is that Time was sometimes fawning and positive about Hitler. It's like the old joke, "But he was great with Dogs and Children"... which might be true, but doesn't overshadow the other character and behavioral flaws that they chose not to dwell on. more...
