AP completely discredits itself by calling this "a rare diplomatic win". If a Democrat Administration had brokered a massive diplomatic coup that ended the gulf Arab blockade against Israel (or roadmap for one), and got Israel to stop annexation plans in the West Bank, they'd being trumpeting this historical event. But they're trying to downplay the historic event, because it was done by Donald Trump.

Off the top of my head, Trump's prior diplomatic wins include: renegotiating NAFTA (USMCA), renegotiated trade with China (major concessions), got us out of the WTO, got sanctions re-established against Iran, opened direct discussion on denuclearizing North Korea, got Mexico to enforce our border, pressured "allies" into increasing NATAO/defense spending, got Japan to quadruple their defense payments, recognized Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel, Destroyed the ISIL/Islamic State caliphate that rose under Obama, killed its terrorist chieftain (Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi), pulled us out of multiple foreign entanglements, and so on. You don't have to like or vote for him -- but diplomatically -- if you look at American interests?

He's way ahead of Obama in half the time. No Benghazi, no red lines he backed off of, no rise of the caliphate, no bowing 8 times to other heads of state, no going to Hiroshima during their remembrance (against the advice of their foreign minister) and making us look bad, no Russian invasion of Ukraine under his watch, no collapse of Egypt or Libya (with our help)... so foreign policy wise? Just not doing bad things was a foreign policy win.

A list of articles on Trump, his scandals (real and imagined). My goal isn't to cheerlead or slam, but I am anti-establishment and have the most interest in the parts of the story that the media/left has omitted, and giggle at cry-bullies getting their comeuppance. That's probably too much nuance for many, as anything but rabid attacks make many think I'm a Trump lover. While I wish he was a better behaved champion and didn't get in the mud with the pigs, but if he didn't, he'd be Mitt Romney and he'd likely lose. So they despise him for doing what they do back to them. I don't like either of them, but I like the one fighting for individuals more than the ones fighting to oppress them.
Trump Doctrine
Trump's Foreign Policy can be summed up as:
    • Reduction in foreign entanglements and bring troops home (pulled us out of Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan).
    • Pressured our allies to pay more for our protection and to start raising their own defense spending (NATO)
    • Reduction in foreign aid, especially subsidizing countries that hate us (including the U.N.)
    • Reduced our participation in the Muslim Communist Front known as the U.N., including telling the WHO to piss off when they shilled for the Chinese and made the Pandemic worse.
    • Used that savings to increase our military spending from $600B to $738B
    • Raise sanctions and diplomatic pressure on "bad" actor nations (China, Cuba and Iran - tearing up bad deals and Killing Terrorist Mastermind Gen. Qasem Soleimani, North Korea, Russia with giving Ukraine Weapons, Mexico with illegal immigration/drugs)
    • Working to end unfair trade to restore free trade: reworking NAFTA (USMCA), ended TPP and renegotiated with China (promised for the UK and EU next), got us out of the WTO.
    • Syria: Destroyed the ISIL/Islamic State caliphate that rose under Obama, killed its terrorist chieftain, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi then destroyed Russian mercenaries that attacked U.S. troops. Last ISIS village fell on 03.23.2019
    • Recognizing Jerusalem as capital of Israel and moving our Embassy there (after 40 years of empty promises). (As well as recognizing the Golan Heights as part of Israel now).
    • Help us become energy independent (no longer reliant on the Middle East).
    • Worked towards peace in the Middle East (deals between Israel and UAE, Saudi Arabia, and many other muslim countries).
Obama Foreign Policy
ObamaCruiseMissiles.jpg
Obama's foreign policy can be summed up as:
  • Awarded the Nobel Prize for not being George Bush. Lacking humility or grace, he accepted. Then invaded Libya, screwed up Syria, lead to ISIS (and did nothing), continued with Iraq and Afghanistan, gave the Russians Crimea and became the biggest user/abuser of drone strikes in history.
  • After being told by the State Dept that it's an insult to bow as the head of state, so he did it 8 times, each time generating more cries from those who understood manners.
  • Japan's foreign minister begged Obama NOT to go to Hiroshima (bad optics / loss of face), so he did anyways.
  • He encouraged Russia to be bold, ignored their hacking for 8 years, used it as an excuse to illegally spy on his opponents campaign, then poisoned the relationship for the next administration.
  • After promising not to invade/attack any country that wasn't an immediate and direct threat to the U.S., he attacked Libya, destabilized them because they were helping us in the war on terror, fucked it up, then lied about what happened, covered it up, arrested political prisoners (scapegoats) and obstructed justice.
  • Made the worst deal in history with Iran: we'll stop sanctions and give you billions, they promise not to get caught working on the bomb for a few years, and we'll have no oversight.
AP

The Associated Press, or AP for short, seems to have poor quality control, and was taken over by progressive Marxists in the 1980's. They are semi-jokingly called the Administration Press, if a far lefty is in office (like Obama), or the Apoplectic Press when any moderate or conservative is.

In truth, their are a lot of stories syndicated through the AP, and only a significant percentage are sloppy, erroneous, misleading or far left. But it's virtually unheard of that they will ever be sloppy, erroneous, misleading in the moderate or right leaning direction.
