From the least accomplished President in my lifetime (and I lived through Gerrald Ford), Barack Obama had another ghost writer (Bill Ayers?) complete his 768 page alternate-reality fan-fiction book pretending to be an autobiographical memoir. The 3rd in the series of self worship, and he's promising volume 2 in this set is still coming. Just reading the highlights is like watching Jeffry Toobin on zoom: you are left with the horrifying impression that Barack Obama screams out his own name while masturbating while looking in the mirror and listening to tapes of his old speeches. Fortunately, he doesn't need to take matters into his own hands, since he has the NYT and the Atlantic to give him a happy ending. The fact that he sees the nation through a lens of self delusion doesn't matter, since that's the same prescription that NYT and the Atlantic wear. Someday, I will slow through the highly abridged version of it, since that's all that I can stomach, but the reviews and excerpts have let me know that it'll need to wait for a better year than 2020.

Of course this isn't completely fair, since I haven't read it... just the guffaw inspiring reviews and excerpts from the Atlantic... but I mean talk about giggle worthy...

❝ Barack Obama is as fine a writer as they come. It is not merely that this book avoids being ponderous, as might be expected, even forgiven, of a hefty memoir, but that it is nearly always pleasurable to read, sentence by sentence, the prose gorgeous in places, the detail granular and vivid. ❞

That's the opening two sentences. You can't make that up. You can practically hear the fapping going on in the background.

❝ In Oslo, he looks outside to see a crowd of people holding candles, the flames flickering in the dark night, and one senses that this moves him more than the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony itself. ❞

You mean the prize he got for being the most drone-bombing'est President in history. That started wars in Lybia, supported them in Egypt and Syria. Lead to the rise of the Caliphate (ISIL), and paid Iran billions to develop Nuclear weapons and start an arms race in the middle east? That guy?

❝ His reluctance to glory in any of his achievements has a particular texture, the modesty of the Brilliant American Liberal, which is not so much false as it is familiar, like a much-practiced pose. It brings an urge to say, in response, “Look, take some credit already!” ❞

For what? Being the most divisive President of my lifetime. (Biden/Harris hasn't completed their term yet). His whole Presidency was around, "do what I say, or you're a god-gun clinging deplorable, that's a racist-sexist-homophobic-bigot". His was the administration that fertilized cancel culture, BLM, Antifa, Occupy Wall Street, while belittling the Tea Party (fiscal prudence), and was the direct cause of the backlash known as Donald Trump.

Conclusion

The book from the excerpts seems to be a guy more about image than reality. Someone that knows he has a Svengali effect on the gullible rubes of the left, and so he puts on the airs of false humility, then wafts confirmation bias at everyone that prefers believing in his version of reality, rather than in the universe that we live in.

In an Atlantic interview about how great he and his book is, he says,

❝ If I remain hopeful about the future, it’s in large part because I’ve learned to place my faith in my fellow citizens, especially those of the next generation, whose conviction in the equal worth of all people seems to come as second nature, and who insist on making real those principles that their parents and teachers told them were true but that they perhaps never fully believed themselves. More than anyone else, my book is for those young people—an invitation to once again remake the world, and to bring about, through hard work, determination, and a big dose of imagination, an America that finally aligns with all that is best in us. ❞

And that sort of sums it up.

Obama doesn't love America as it is, or was. He has faith that the youngest, least experienced and least wise in the ways of the world, are angsty and gullible enough to not understand the lessons of Chesterton's Fence -- that before you tear something down, you should know why it was put up. And instead, they will remake America into something Barack could be proud of: the USSA.

To him American wasn't the promised land for millions, that allowed them to escape the collectivism and socialism to come here to be free. The promised land is not about the reality of what is or was. It is a delusion about the future, and what he imagines that ignorance, gullibility and gall will lead us into in the future -- a nation of collective sheep, bleating as part of a unified world socialist government, with any conservatives or their thoughts as grist for the mill of their socialist dystopia.

Just a list of things I’ve watched, read, seen, heard about, and so on, that I had some commentary on. You get what you pay for, and this is free advice: hopefully you're getting a bargain. My comments are meant to give you enough to know if I did/didn't like something, with enough breadcrumbs on why to know if that means you would or wouldn't like it as well.

A list of issues, articles and scandals that pertain to Barack Obama. Again, the point isn't to be fair here: it's to be honest. I don't care how people vote, or who they support. I do care about correcting revisionist history. This isn't meant as a balanced piece to show what good he's accomplished as a politicians or person (there was some, though it is a much shorter list), if you want fawning puff pieces, read/watch the water carriers in the left-wing media.
