In the USA, persecution is a strong word. It happens, but I think bias, bigotry, and harassment is more often the case. But the left does have an extreme contempt for anyone that has values and doesn't agree with them, and they demonstrate it regularly to the point of trying to push litmus tests on candidates AGAINST their religious beliefs... if they're Christians. Their complete and utter contempt for VP Mike Pence is an example. But they attack lots of individuals like the owner of Chik-fil-a, or even the games played in private schools.
