With all the outrage, we watched the Netflix movie “Cuties“. Something that causes that much outrage, I'm going to want to watch for myself. It was played up as the poster-film for kiddie porn. I wouldn't recommend it as it wasn't very "good", but it wasn't quite as bad as it's made out to be. I went in expecting to hate it, and get confirmation bias that Netflix was run by assholes, and left thinking, "not a great foreign film", and reasons for complaints... but not the end of civilization. And the Streisand effect will probably help it more than hurt it.
The anti-Trump, TDS-suffering Verge embarrasses itself trying to spin the significance of the Tik Tok & Oracle deal, as no big accomplishment. Either they are really poor at understanding tech, or they let their political agenda suffocate reason. This isn't as big a deal as if Microsoft had bought them, but it's still a pretty big deal.
Netflix original series basically said "let's put the case of 'That 70's Show' on a Colorado Ranch, and make fun of red-states". You'd think with that premise, it would be a disaster -- but it the first couple Season's were good. Then Danny Masterson got "MeToo'd" over "rape", aka having sex with his sleeping wife a couple decades ago, and she stayed with him for 3 more years. Then he was killed off, and the show lost its tone and wandered for another season and a half before mercifully going to the slaughter house.
On May 3rd, in Kenosha, Wisconsin Jacob Blake (29) is shot for being a violent thug resisting arrest, but a viral doctored video convinces ignorant bigots that a repeat felon is a pillar of the black community, and the police shot him for no good reason. Democrats and their BLM allies sensationalize the "injustice", and violent riots happen for weeks.
Time Magazine's Token Conservative and TDS suffering #NeverTrump'er (David French), wrote a piece that explained America is on the brink of self destruction. I tend to agree. But being that he's lost his mind with regards to Trump, he had to spin it as, "and both sides are at fault". Which isn't completely wrong, but they're not EQUALLY at fault. And that's important to understand.
Now I'm sure Emmanuel is a nice guy. He seems it. Soft spoken, educated, polite... his charity work is something he should be proud of. But he is woefully misinformed and preaching a message of hate wrapped in a candy coating. Though I'm sure he sincerely doesn't see it that way, bigots always think someone else is the problem.
Unhinged is Russell Crowe thriller about an "unhinged" stranger terrorizing a young woman after a road rage incident. Russell did a good job of looking and acting like John Goodman in 10 Cloverfield Lane (quiet, crazy type)... and as far as thrillers go, it wasn't horrible or great. Middle of the road suspense, with people occasionally doing predictably irrational things, and a few cheesy lines (groaners) thrown in. The most memorable part is it was the biggest major release to theaters during COVID. I'm not sure if that will help or hurt it. If you like thrillers done by a horror director, you'll probably enjoy it. If these aren't your genre, and they generally aren't mine, it's a reasonably entertaining 93 minutes... that will soon be forgotten.
Branch COVIDians (aka COVIDIOTS), are the enthusiastic Karen Enforcers of policies that they've been told work by the DNC or their media, but demonstrate no actual domain knowledge of the problems or skepticism (critical thinking skills) to back it up. They are the Dunning-Kruger's who believe the evidence against masks or shutdowns are conclusive: "the science is settled" when in reality, both are still hotly debated in scientific circles and there's as much evidence against both as effective as for. When cornered, instead of discussing the topic, they usually attack people, or post links to their favorite non-scientific source, or rarely, to a junk study that's easy to debunk.
While I sometimes argue with these people, the point is not to change their mind (their views demonstrate that they're not open to the nuances of reality), it's to get them to show to others that their consensus demanding tantrums are not based on nuance or reality, but based on a desire to conform to what they've been told to think (usually by the far left).
AP completely discredits itself by calling this "a rare diplomatic win". If a Democrat Administration had brokered a massive diplomatic coup that ended the gulf Arab blockade against Israel (or roadmap for one), and got Israel to stop annexation plans in the West Bank, they'd being trumpeting this historical event. But they're trying to downplay the historic event, because it was done by Donald Trump.
The latest double-face palm from USAToday was not over [their bad explanation of what a bump stock is] (or ignoring that people can do the same thing with a belt loop or shoe string). Then they went full retard in explaining what makes AR-15's so dangerous, all the accessories that you can mount (on most other guns)... including the dreaded, "chainsaw bayonet". Seriously. I thought it was a joke. But I checked, it was real article.... then they took it further, and they promoted it with a tweet and a custom animation on the accessories for a AR-15, again including the chainsaw bayonet. This of course, lead to a lot of mocking under the predictabl #ChainsawBayonet, including the sharkwithfriggenlaser, velocoraptor and a smaller AR-15 under your AR-15 accessories.
After Keith Thomas Kinnunen (43) pulled out a shotgun and killed two people, Jack Wilson (71, Hero, NRA member and Trump supporter) quickly shot and killed the Texas church shooter a few seconds in, ending the confrontation and saving countless lives. The video of the event went viral because it was being live streamed and of how fast it all happened at the West Freeway Church of Christ, in White Settlement Texas (a Dallas/Fort Worth suburb). Multiple other people in the congregation had pulled guns and were prepared as well, which caused USA Today and other leftist outlets commented on how scary it was that so many churchgoers were armed and didn't die like good little proles. The shooter had a long criminal record, in multiple states, thus the gun was illegally owned (gun control didn't work). A few months ago, Democrats like Joe Biden had mocked Texas Governor Greg Abbott, for signing a bill into law that allows people in churches to be armed, preferring a much larger massacres to liberty and trusting your fellow man, this event proves them wrong. CNN and other FakeNews outlets misreported Jack Wilson as a cop -- while he was former reserve deputy sheriff and an owner/trainer of a firearms training academy, he was a civilian and not law enforcement.
Reminiscent of the Bonfire of the Vanities (where the Church burned things that offended it), WaPo advocates for composting books that offend it. Their slogan is where Democracy dies in the darkness (after the bonfire)... and where the editorial board is so full of groupthink that nobody questioned whether telling people to compost books you disagree with was a good idea? I wonder what other cultures have burned/destroyed books and had cultural revolutions, and how they turned out? Certainly no one at WaPo was self aware to ask or answer that question. Either way, they expose their true colors not by refuting the other side, but by advocating vandalizing their material so they don't even have to argue against it -- which says everything you need to know about their position on hearing both sides.
12 Steps are the well-known ways that Alcoholics Anonymous helps guide people out of their dependence on alcohol, and into a more actuated and self aware and just all around better human being. It teaches people to stop running from who they are and how they feel, and to become a person that they can be more proud of.
Another pillar of the black community (meaning insane drug abuser with a violent rap sheet) violently resists arrest, and dies of health problems (heart condition) combined with a drug overdose, and BLM uses an edited video and a false narrative to convince the gullible and violent to believe George Floyd was killed for being black, instead of dying of an overdose. And then the left does what they do: make excuses to loot, riot, vandalize, and divide us.
Gavin Newsom’s $3.7 million, 12,000 square foot mansion, a modest 6 bedroom/10 bath home on 8+ acres, with guest house, a pool, a tennis court, and a wine cave, all along the American River in Sacramento, was the area’s most expensive home sale in 2018 -- was gifted the home free and clear (via a shell LLC), didn't declare it on his taxes, then got a $2.7 million tax-free sweetheart loan via a cash-out refinance. This is on top of him being cited in 2003 for failing to disclose $11 million in real estate and business loans.
MSNBC producer (Ariana Pekary) resigns from network with scathing letter: They block 'diversity of thought' and 'amplify fringe voices'... it goes on to detail that everything the right has complained about with that outlet (and others), is true... if not understating the issue.
Brian Williams (MSNBC) and Mara Gay (New York Times Editorial Board Member) were discussing Bloomberg’s failed presidential campaign and the $500M ad spend, and were agreeing with a shocking twitter post that they could have $1M to each and every one of the 327M Americans and had money left over. It's actually $1.53 per person, not $1M -- and anyone with a triple digit IQ should have known something didn't add up. But that's the best and brightest on MSNBC and NYT.
The problem isn't just that the Atlantic posts divisive FakeNews that undermines our social cohesiveness, it's that when caught in it, they don't correct it and fire everyone involved. The Atlantic fires some of the best journalists if they happen to have once written a pro-life opinion piece... but someone caught red-handed writing pieces of unverifiable fiction that claims the police murder innocents with impunity, like this article by Derecka Purnell? And the Atlantic refuses to respond to evidence showing how negligent they were in fact checking, and how dishonest this article's premise is, because that's what The Atlantic has become.
The last moderate journalists left at the NYT (Bari Weiss), quit with an open letter explaining it was because of continual harassment by her far-left consensus demanding colleagues, and the policies supporting that bias at the dying rag of post-journalism. She committed thoughtcrime against liberal orthodoxy, by remaining open to facts that didn't fit the far left narrative.
